Is nvidia GeForce Fx 5500 compatible with ubuntu 9.10

I'm trying to Try ubuntu 9.10, but i cannot continue to load.
I installed nvidia GeForce Fx 5500, then i insert the cd

Ok watched the vid

Did you MD5 test the ISO you burned BEFORE burning?
DId you run the CD verifier which is on the screen after you select your language?

It is compatible though, if the CD passes we can try some other stuff.

my friend is already using ubuntu with 9.10 with fx 5500 as far as know. actually usb boot is more preferred over the cd boot. but md5 the iso first and if that is not the problem try usb boot.

Its not preffered at all, some systems cannot boot USB. Its just an alternative way to install (it is faster but that doesn't make it "preferred" at all)

Nvidia support for Linux is second to none
