The system is running in low-graphics mode

Asked by Ginger

"Your screen , graphics card, and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself." is the message. And neither mouse nor the touch pad of the notebook is working. If I press" Enter“, it shows me 4 options:" Run in low-graphics mode for just one session" ,"Reconfigure graphics" ....ETC, but since the mouse is not working, none of the options can be selected.

Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.16.0-77-generic x86_64

Does the system have a make and model?
What happened before the issue (updates? driver installation?)?

Thanks

Additional remark:
Version 3.16.0-77-generic for the kernel packages on Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS is outdated and support for that version series has ended.

Perhaps the best solution top your problem is creating a full backup of your private files and doing a clean new installation of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Can you help with this problem?
