Ubuntu 14.04 only one resolution avaliable in laptop

Asked by Centollo

I recently installed Ubuntu 14.04 in my Packard Bell P5WS0 laptop.
I barely know anything about using ubuntu and I had a hard time installing it, had to end up activating an option called "nosetmode" when doing so, dunno if that has anything to do with this problem.

Now when I try to change the screen resolution the only one avaliable is 1024x768. Whatever you need to know to help me solve this just ask.

Thanks.

I'm not sure it worked as intended and I hope it's not a problem that the OS is in Spanish, but here it is:

You have an Optimus based graphics set. Look into nvidia-prime or bumblebee
