ubuntu system is crashing

i have fujistu-siemenes lap amilo pa 2548
processor amd turion 2ghz
ram 2gb
win7 ultimate 32-bit
i have setup ubuntu but when i open it the screen is going crazy and i have to restart my lap
please help me
i put the ubuntu on hard 20 gb with win7
and swap 2 gb

Have you tested your RAM using Memtest86+ in Grub?
What video chip do you use?

my video chip is
nivida geforce 8400m g
and the red screen appered at test #7 47%

Sounds like bad ram then. You could try the boot option:

nouvea.blacklist=1
