Can't Access Menues un 12.10

Asked by John Bloxham

When I updated to 12.10, I can't see any of the menues, no matter where I place the mouse, which ever corner or side. I eventually went back to 12.04. Has any body seen this or found a resolution? I am running NVIDA graphics, which seem to work well under 12.04.

Hi ,

if you used the nvidia-proprietary drivers (additional) then probably something went wrong with the driver.

Ubuntu 12.10 and nvidia restricted drivers are not in a good relation lately. :-)

If you decide to install again 12.10 , try to use the pre-installed nouveau driver. (sometimes works better).

Thanks

I suggest you remove the nvidia driver, reboot then reinstall it. It is rare for proprietary video drivers to survive a release change.
