Upgrade to 12.10 Nvidia GForce GT 540M

Asked by Matías Guzmán

I was trying to upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 but the installation told me that my graphic card wasn't supported and that I would have a really slow system. I have a Nvidia GForce 540M in a laptop with i7, 4gb ram. Should I stay with the 12.04 or should I upgrade? Thanks for your help!

I suggest you unistall the nvidia driver, then upgrade then install the proprietary video driver.

Stick with 12.04 for a little time , cuz 12.10 is pretty new and has some bugs open.
