Nvidia driver won't run

Asked by Steve Clarke

I get the error "You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server." when running nvidia display settings. I have a Toshiba satellite P750 PSAY3A-02K001 but can not find any info on what video card the laptop has. How and what do I change my X config file to? How can I find out what card it has?

Cheers,
Steve.

Please install display driver via terminal through
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current-modaliases nvidia-current

reboot your system. X will recongnize nvidia driver.
