3d unity dont work

hi,
im new to ubuntu, i installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS desktop and everything seems to be normal ,but i just can't get 3d unity to work, even the compiz comfig manger don/t make any change to my desktop :(
i have AMD Athlon and vga : Nvidia GeForce FX 5700
i don't know what is the problem, or maybe my geforce don't support 3d!! any help plz

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display; lsb-release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | grep nvidia

Try:

sudo dpkg -P nvidia-current
sudo apt-get --purge remove nvidia-settings nvidia-settings-updates
sudo apt-get --purge autoremove
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

then i restart ,but still nothing changes :( does my system support 3d unity or no? how can i know that?

can you post output of the glxinfo command?
