Unable to run a Dell flatscreen monitor properly

Asked by redmike

Have installed a Dell flat screen monitor. Claims to be running at 640x480 but monitor displays only a quarter tile of the desktop ie about 3500 dots resolution
How do you install the software and is the no entry sign from system update anything to do with it
regards Mike

Jaunty is no longer supported. I suggest you do a clean install with Precise.

Precise is Ubuntu 12.04 and is LTS (5 year support). You will use your backups for your user data after the install (which I assume you have)
