Geforce 560 Ti ftw 448 cores; doesn't allow me to install ubuntu.

Asked by Alfredo Gonzalez

I bought this card been nvidia and all and I'm having a really hard time to get drivers for it.
Every time I try to install Ubuntu 11.10 it get stuck and doesn't go pass the start up logo.
With ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 it lets me install the OS but I cant get anything done due to no drivers. Can you guys tell me how to work around this or should I have to return it?

But not new to researching online I'll wager....

If you hold SHIFT at boot and press E to (e)dit the boot you can delete the words:

quiet splash

and in their place add:

nouveau.blacklist=1

Press ENTER to continue the boot, should be ok

Can you help with this problem?
