I can't turn off my nvidia graphics card in my lenovo z570

I am using Lenovo Z570(304896) model laptop
specs
Intel core i5 2.30 Ghz
750 GB Hard disk
6 GB RAM
nVidia GEFORCE 520M 1GB RAM

There is a switch in front of my laptop inorder to turn off graphics card.. to save power. But i can't do it now.
And more it is showing only 2.9GibB of RAM.....
PLEASE HELP

I suggest you look into ironhide or bumblebee. Switchable graphics are a nightmare in Linux and AMD and Nvidia have both said thety will not be supporting the technology outside of Windows.
