Problem with up-date from 11.04 to 11.10

Asked by Cliffm

Hello
Tried to up-date to 11.10 Beta
It took 2 hours to down load. When it started to install it stopped and informed me there was an error. I canceled and returned to 11.04. The download continued to partially down load 11.10. This caused the Natty to not work, nor did 11.10.

11.10 opened to the desktop. The image fluttered so bad it could barely be read. Several messages were fluttering by starting about center to upper left corner of the desktop. These informed me I did not have sufficient hardware to run 11.10.

I am running AMD Phenom II 64 bit, with 4gig Ram, and GeForce Video with 512Mb ddr3

Reloaded 11.04 from previously down loaded CD.

Evolution reconnected to AOL and loaded email's. Address book gone. No dbCouch

Firefox reconnected no sync. Lost book marks and synced URL's.

If there is some additional information needed let me know what to do to retrieve info.

I have used Ubuntu since 8.04 and try to use Beta versions to learn Linux and How to trouble shoot.

Thanks Cliff

Thanks could not load far enough to get a response. Re-loaded 11.04 again and it seems to be working. Will try again after release of 11.10
Thanks again
