Nvidia GTX460SE and lg 32lh3000 tv don't work together

Asked by Pikkolo

Hi :P

I am using oneiric - today's current release - and I can't make my nvidia gtx460se work properly together with my lg 32lh3000 tv. Even after correctly activating the proprietary drivers from the additional drivers applet, the nvidia configuration software doesn't recognize the lcd tv, it calls it " DFP-1 " and it only allows 640x resolution ...

There is also an onboard ati video device on my motherboard, and if I activate the ATI proprietary drivers, everything works perfect both on my monitor and on the lcd tv.

What may I do to make the gtx and the lcd tv work together fine ?

Thanks

Cheers

why are you activating the ATi driver for an Nvidia GPU? I suggest you also log a bug. Oneiric is NOT ready and NOT stable. If you are happy to stomach glitchy buggy software, and want to submit bugs to help get Oneiric ready for release then by all means, use Oneiric. If you need a stable OS then I suggest you use Natty

I have two gpus, a NVIDIA on pci express slot, and an ATI onboard. The Nvidia doesn't work with the lcd tv, the ATI does work perfect. I agree with you on os stability, but this issue I'm relating to already was present in natty. I just hope this gets solved, I hope not to annoy anyone :)

What do you mean with logging a bug ? How may I do it ?

Thanks

You can run:

ubuntu-bug xorg

It will be moved if it is reported against the wrong thing. You could have made your life a lot easier by using identical graphics chi p manufacturers.. You may need an xorg.conf file to specify the display.

Can you help with this problem?
