Low resolution on Ubuntu 9.10 with NVIDIA 8400 GS

I need a help on my Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS video card, Apparently i just update my Ubuntu to 9.10 and then when i was finish updating to 9.10, I was getting black screen. I already update Nvidia from Hardware Drivers and my video card still not working. My Video card was working on old ubuntu 8.10 - version 170 but when i'd update to Ubuntu 9.10 and click the recommended version 195. Its gives me black screen. Help me please anyone...

Open terminal, type:

sudo -i

give your user password, you will not see any screen chars when you type it, then press enter

and then try to configure your nvidia, type:

nvidia-xconfig

reboot
