screen freezes with 10.04

Asked by marcus aurelius

I've been having this problem for a month.

The screen freezes intermittent. If I'm surfing the web, part of the page loads then freezes. The mouse/cursor is unaffected. Also, while watching videos, the video freezes, but the audio and the mouse are unaffected.

I've tried both open source and proprietary Nvidia drivers and this has not solved the problem.
