NVIDIA GEForce 6150SE Force 430 ,256 MB Graphics can't enable desktop effect

I am new to Ubuntu. I Have NVIDIA GEForce 6150SE Force 430 ,256 MB Graphics card in my PC. When i try to enable desktop effect It Shows that Desktop Effects Could not be Enabled. What Should I do. I even do not have an Internet access.I installed all packages using Apton CD. Plz, help me to solve the problem. If I should install the driver then how should i do and where will i get the package.I am using UBUNTU- 10.04 Desktop Edition.

As actionparsnip pointed out, you may need to install the proprietary driver for your video card. Using the utility he pointed out, you can have the driver automatically downloaded and installed. After you do this, you should be able to enable the desktop effects. Please note that because these drivers are proprietary, only the company providing the driver (Nvidia) can provide fixes for bugs and security holes.

You may also download the Linux driver from Nvidia's website, however I recommend you use the Hardware Drivers utility.
