How to set Display Resolution to 1600x900

Asked by WindyWeather

With a ACER P205H display. 1600x900.
Using Nvidia 6150 LE graphics card - 185.18.36 driver
Ubuntu 9.10 - up to the minute updates

No choices for 1600x900 appear in either Nvidia or in standard display adapter.

Also using the remote desktop software which works fine, but of course that does not depend on a physical screen.

How can I set XServer to the correct resolution for this monitor?
Am I missing some config file so that software knows about this monitor?

Thanks,
WW

if nothing appears, you have not 1600x900 !
another solution if you really think that it is possible; is to go to the site nvidia or from google and find the answers about the drivers you needs with your graphic card.
i, i should go to acer site and i should do an update of my machine (do not forget bios p.e) and i should watch very carefully 'drivers for graphic card'...

Can you help with this problem?
