There is a tool to install the driver automatically for you. It's in the System/Admin menu, it's called "Hardware Drivers". It should propose you a Nvidia driver.

I have acer 5935G with graphic card Nvidia 130M Gforce, after i installed Ubuntu 10.04 and the system proposed the Nvidia driver, i had to restart my computer, but after i did, a black screen appears and it flashes as if something went wrong with VGA card.
