Graphic Problem and Display scrambled

when i am trying to install ubuntu i am seeing this its not starting the installation process

After installation i am seeing this instead of login in graphical form

i am using windows beside ubuntu

 Please tell us the following information-
 >The Ubuntu version you're using.
 >Install media(cd/pendrive). If cd-live cd/alternative cd.
 >Your S/m Processor and GPU(Graphics card).

Latest version of ubuntu 10.10
I tried both of them cd and pendrive and installed inside windows what ever may be same problem
Intel core i5 and Nvidia 240 GT

I think the problem is with the Graphics driver. Let me try to find a workaround(if available).
Also in the meantime can you try installing Ubuntu 10.04 (Long Term Release). While trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 n many of my friend's laptop's with latest Intel processors, I have encountered such problems with display. Finally, I tried Ubuntu 10.04 on their Laptop and it did work fine.(its just worth a try). I'll try to find a solution for you to use Ubuntu 10.10 itself.

I faced this problem no only with ubuntu other linux distro also

which linux distro you thing has better gui and easier to use

Vamsi,
Ubuntu has one of the best support of Graphics card like ATI/NVIDIA, most Linux OS will experiene the same problem since they all depend on the same driver. My suggestion is that you stick onto Ubuntu, since it has got the best Technical support/Community support out there. That's how I got sticked to Ubuntu. ;) The problem is that their opensource drivers are not available/the one available does not have full feature. And if it is a non-free or propreitary driver like what we use for NVIDIA, then we have to install it manually.
 If you're ready to give a try, there is a way of installing the latest proprietary driver for NVIDIA, via PPA. Just follow the following instructions-
1.Run the following commands in your terminal, when connected to Internet-
 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
 sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install nvidia-current nvidia-current-modaliases nvidia-settings
2.Then go to System > Administration > Hardware Drivers and make sure "Nvidia current" is activated.

This should fix it for you, since I found your particular card(NVIDIA 240 GT) in the list of supported devices at the following link(Supported Products)-

http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-display-ia32-256.35-driver.html

Also remove the opensource driver for NVIDIA called Nouveau by running the following command-

sudo apt-get --purge remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

Now, restart your system and keep your fingers crossed. tell me how it went :)
