There are known bugreports arround that describe such problems with installing properitary drivers on old Ubuntu versions.

Look, it may be possible to do that, but a painfull thing.

Make it easy, go with the time and the development.

Use Ubuntu11.10 for your laptop. Your laptop has much more resources than you at minimum need. And it is stable. And I am pretty sure that the properitary driver will work. -> use jockey after installation.

Download it with firefox after you have installed the firefox extension downthemall.

It performs automatically a checksum check on MD5. SHA256 is as maximum for this download also possible and supported by the ubuntu servers.

I give you here the link:

www.ubuntu.com/start-download?distro=desktop&bits=64&release=latest

The version is compatible with your CPU.

At best you make a fresh install. Do not try with upgrading. Have just seen people arround who tried this. -> Extensive failing for jumping versions in more than one step.

Hi melchiaros,

Thanks for your Answer!
I know that this driver will install on ubuntu 11.10 version. But as per our requirement, we only need Ubuntu 10.04 on this system.
The Intel Hd graphics driver is not automatically installed there.

Can you please help me how I can install Intel HD graphics driver in this system on UBUNTU 10.04 ?

Thanks,

When you need to go through walls, please use inernet search and when I read:

"But as per our requirement" it suggests me that you have professional interest, so please go to :

http://www.ubuntu.com/business/services/overview

and choose the right for you.

The rest is on you.

Hi,

I don't have any professional interest on it. we required this Ubuntu version as some package has been included on it. Please suggest me further so that we can able to install the Intel HD graphics driver on it.
