Error when running a game.

Asked by Shegra

when i try to run a game on wine i keep getting a program error.
Flyff for example:
[ The program GameMon.des has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.]
                                                                            {close}
every time i run last chaos i get:
[patch file is crashed. must run program again.]
                                                                 {ok}

now i use to be able to play these games no problem untill i reinstalled linux what am i missing?

There are also some games that are made for linux users i.e. Secondlife.
Ive tryed to run different viewers like phoenix viewer, snowglobe, secondlife viewer beta; they will start looking like it will run but then it closes and never does.
Again i use to be able to play these games but since i reinstalled linux they haven't been working.

What am i missing now that i wasn't then?

Ok, your display isn't reporting EDID (most likely), so the intel video driver is not loading. Have you considered using a later release than Lucid, it may help. You may need to create an xorg.conf to accommodate your hardware.

Can you help with this problem?
