Xserver freezes when display sleeps

Asked by Ednilton Santos de Oliveira

I am using Ubuntu 11.04 beta up to date. If the system stays inactive, the screensaver is enabled normally. When on screensaver, I can return to my work if I use the keyboard or mouse. However, if the system stays inactive for such time that the display sleeps, then the Xserver freezes. When I use the mouse or keyboard, the display, that was black, shows I frozen screensaver. I can change to a tty session and use this terminal session normally. Any clue? Should I report a bug?

Yes log a bug. Natty is NOT stable and NOT ready. If you want a stable OS then use Maverick or Lucid. If you are happy to stomach bugs and feature holes and want to log bugs to get the OS ready for release then use Natty.
