boot option got me through install Ubuntu 10.04 but now I crash booting from hard disk.

My BIOS assigns 64-bit addresses to the video device. The boot option "i915.modeset=0 xforcevesa" allowed me to complete the install. Now I crash booting from hard disk. Is there a similar boot option for booting the installed OS?
