hp pavillion dv1000:cant load and install ubuntu 10.04 lts with intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller

i have hp pavillion dv1000
i was unable to see the install window from livecd of 10.04 -it showed a blank screen after clicking on "install ubuntu"
i also tried "try ubuntu without installing" option but none worked
so i installed 9.10 desktop besides xp which worked good
then i upgraded it successfully to 10.04 LTS desktop
when i restarted the same problem after booting up same blank screen
i m really stuck and want 10.04 to run
so anyone plz help!!

Here the relevant infos:

From the LiveCD:

1) At the purple screen with a keyboard and stickfigure, press Enter to get to the menu.

2) Hit Enter to select your language, and then press F6 and then Esc.

3) Add "i915.modeset=1" after "quiet splash".

4) Press Enter to boot the LiveCD.
