Intel 815EM Embedded Graphics

I have a DELL INSPIRON 2500 laptop running Ubuntu and I am stuck in 800x600 resolution ( Intel 815EM Embedded Graphics )....tried everything on all forums and I am stuck......I dont want to back to windows xp ....HEEEEELLLPPPP !!!!!!

Are you able to boot up a LiveCd session
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Reinstalling%20from%20LiveCD

and find a combination of boot-options that gives better display? Please let me know how this goes :)
