I have an Asus K42Jc(Intel Core i5 430M, with nVidia optimus) and I get only
intel ips 0000:00:1f.6: failed to get i915 symbols, graphics turbo disabled

at the terminal screen on startup then the login loads, compiz works fine. But graphics performance is slow.
