Xorg configuration for an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700

Asked by Jim Braux-Zin

Hello, I would need a complete xorg.conf example for edgy, since I tweaked it a lot ant every howto I saw started from the default edgy xorg.conf...

Could you help me?

With my current configuration, the "radeon" driver works fine for 2d but the system freezes as soon as I try to launch glxgears for example. glxinfo returns dri activated and the correct vendor.

I hope I would be able to experience the coolness of beryl!

And too, the xserver-xorg-video-ati package has been upgraded in debian. Wouldn't it be beneficial for a lot of people to backport it?

Thank you a lot

Jim

Hi, as the original xorg.conf comments state:

# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

enjoy
Jonathan
