text display problem, see only graphic lines/gibberish

Asked by TheW

Since a new install of ubuntu 12.04 I seem to have a problem with the display of text. from time to time I see graphic lines and gibberish instead of text. It is all over the system, can happen in any application, even in terminal window. If I scroll, or in the case of Guake press f12 to hide the window and then again to show the window, then it is gone and can I see the text again.

Here are photo´s of how it looks like.

What is the solution to this?
