Can't start Ubuntu 11.10 screen issue

Asked by Zlatan Hozić

Followed all the steps from Ubuntu's web page - downloaded, burned on a CD, so decided to give it a try.

After booting, got the 1st (BIOS) screen, and after that got a purple screen with 2 small icons at the bottom.

All looked fine.

Than, instead of getting that "try or install" option - my screen looked like it's broken.

So - I rebooted again and started Windows - all fine.

Inserted CD and wanted to check it - autoplay started, and offered installation, so I installed together with Windows.

After rebooting, got to choose Ubuntu or Windows - picked Ubuntu and got the same screen.

Anyone have idea what's the problem?

What GPU do you use?
Does the system have a make and model?

Thanks

Just googled a bit, and these photos might help, 'cause I'm getting EXACTLY the same screen.

First I get this:

Purple background with these 2 icons:

And then, instead of start screen, I'm getting exactly the same lines as on this picture:

Any idea?
