Ubuntu 12.04 unstable: graphical artifacts all over the screen, ATI open-source driver

Asked by Bruno Pereira

Ubuntu 12.04

After the latest update I have graphical artifacts all over the screen, no matter if I minimize or maximize or what programs I am using.

They are clear (transparent) square boxes that come and go randomly.

Should this be reported as a bug?

You need to update at least twice a day when running developement release, preferable via apt in terminal.
Please update to get the latest compiz release which reverts the previous upload and should fix the issue after logout or reboot.

Its the development release, so you WILL get issues. Report bugs as you encounter them.

I know its under development, its just something new, been using it for more than a week and it just happened. Upgrades from tonight solved it.

This is fixed, thanks for the advice, it did not last long. ;)
