Ubuntu 11.04 update error

Asked by Islam Wazery

I just updated my Ubuntu 11.04, but now when starting it a black screen is shown and prints:

Checking battery state

Stopping system v runlevel compatibility

I tried to install the latest proprietary ATI driver but the error remains

While I was waiting for you to complete the update, I saw that we had lost electrical service. It was about dinner time so I hope you would contact to start over.

I would very much like to complete the new 11.04 update.

Please advice if you can do that. I have a meeting at 10 this morning.

Leave me a email if you have any suggestions.

Thank you.

I had a WXP-Pro on the computer and have removed the large 1 TB drive. The
one I am using is a 250 MB drive. I believe that if you would either send
me the update or do it on line. I have used Ubuntu, using contining
upgrades. This came about because I have done work with the Boys & Girls in
Athens, GA.

So, if you wish, I can handle the upgrade.

Thank you.
