Drivers for video card messed up the OS

Asked by n0_m0r3_pa1n

Hello!
I downloaded ATI Radeon 4XXX new drivers avaiable for the new Ubuntu 11.04. When i installed them through the terminal and when I restarted my OS it told me that I didn't have the needed hardware and I couldn't start Ubuntu 11.04 so it started 10.10 . And then i removed the installed drivers and then i couldn't start the system at all. It's showing me a black screen with stripes with different colors. I tried to install the new video drivers because the ubuntu video was very bad. How can i fix this whole thing ? :S Or I'll have to reinstall Ubuntu ?

Hi! Sorry for the delay. The reason I tried to reinstall my drivers was the slow video processing. But after searching the web for 3-4 hours I found the solution. My video card is ATI Mobility Raden HD 4570 so I read that I should uncheck in Compiz Sync to VBlank and it started working much better. Just wanted to say that. :)))
