can't install driver for video card

Asked by Wil

I've gone a long time without any problems with Linux.

But, just recently I installed an ATI readon video card...(The latest up-to date one). It says it's for Linux as well. But, I cannot find a way to get the .EXE to work with Ubuntu. I am also using the latest Ubuntu.

I tried loading the driver from the internet--I run into the same problem.

I also looked up "Hardware" under Linux...and I get the usual proprietary crap....and I hit the 'install' button. It says it is not there.
When I used to use INVIDIA...it was the same EXCEPT, it would install.
