Asked by Gary Cathers

Downloaded and installed Ubuntu 10.10 (new install), and after booting noticed that the screen "flashes" about every 7 seconds. Never had this problem on previous versions of Ubuntu.

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C display

(I'm betting it's a cheap SiS chip but we'll see)

I downloaded and installed both 65 bit and 32 versions of Fedora 14, and
they both have the same problem. Would that indicate that the problem
is in the Kernel?

Can you help with this problem?
