ATI Radeon X600 no 3D/OpenGL problem in ubuntu Lucid

Is there any drivers except the default open-source that the system automatically installs that I can use in ubuntu Lucid Lynx which will give me the 3D and/or OpenGL capabilities of my card 'cause I've installed the proprietary drivers and they don't seem to detected or support my mobility display?
