Comment 196 for bug 132716

this is my first ubuntu installation

first I use a dell inspiron 5100 the blue Laptop

after booting from live cd the display was dead I e black screen

I choose the second option to install using safe drivers either on the live cd or the alternate insaller cd

how ever it worked installation was done using vesa driver

when I tried to change vesa to Ati driver using dkpg configuration

after saving xconfg....
it rebooted to black screen

after changing xorg.conf to what's given below the display appeared

i'm sure there is a problem here
