TOUCH PAD gets hang on working

Asked by Triyambakesh

Presently I am on Ubuntu 11.10- Oneiric series, using it successfully since a month. My Laptop is Acer Aspire 5740 with core i5 processor. Since a week, i am facing serious problem with my touch pad. It gets hanged at times when i logged in to my desktop interface, when i open a site, when i get into my drives or folders. And sometimes it works very well for hours. I had never faced this problem earlier. With this problem, I have to directly press the power switch to put off my Laptop and start it again. Sometimes i have to carry out this shut down and power on for 3-4 times after which the cursor starts moving. Kindly help me with its solution. I am lucky to post this question as my touch pad is functioning now. But it wont sometimes.

Well thanks Marcobra for the link.
I just went to the touch pad settings and deselected the "Disable touch pad while typing" tab.
Now there is absolutely no problem. The system is working smoothly. Thank you once again.
