trackpad does not work when computer connected to wireless network but ok on mobile dongle

Hi all i have just installed latest linux Ubunto all is good apart from my track pad will not work when notebook is connected to my home wireless network although it works fine at all other times including when i am connected to the internet via mobile dongle.My notebook is a HP 2133 MINI NOTE.
