Newest version 1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu1 makes touchpad useless..

Asked by idontkn0w123

newest xserver-xorg-input-synaptics version 1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu1
made my synatpics touchpad unusable. lots of jumps, horizontal it works nearly good, but vertical way it jumps and its very slow.
there are also random rightclicks instead of leftclick.

I got these errors in natty alpha1 since i updated today the new driver. with the old one everything worked al right..

Where are you getting the package from?

from the natty sources. I have natty alpha 1 installed. (no virtual machine)
I installed all new updates and this package was also installed. it does not work for my touchpad
(1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-0ubuntu1)

In order to get the touchpad working again, I manually installed xserver-xorg-input-synaptics_1.2.2-2ubuntu5_i386..

You are using a PRE-RELEASE. What did you expect.

log a bug.

Natty is NOT ready and NOT stable. If you want a half-ass OS with
function holes and bugs which you can then log to improve the OS then
use Natty. If you want an OS that works then install Maverick or Lucid.

i wanted to tell the problem, not to complain about it. I know that natty is pre-release :)
I didnt know how and what to post in bug list, because I get no error messages in my log files, touchpad is simply not working right anymore.

try providing the output of the following from a command line

lspci
lsusb
uname -a
lsmod

also, after installing (man git version numbering sucks)
1.3.99+git20110116.0e27ce3a-ubuntu1

try

sudo udevadm trigger

see if that magically makes it "work"
