Mutitouch not working on Macbook Pro

The built-in track pad no longer responds to mutitouch gestures of any kind after upgrading to maverick. Of greatest concern is that this means no right-click functionality as there is only one physical button. All clicks are treated as of only one button is on the pad. This is incorrect behavior which I hope is a configuration problem rather than a bug in the driver itself.
