Touchpad stopped working

Asked by Oscar Smallenbroek

Hey all,

My touchpad did work for a while but then decided to give up. I have tried to disable and enable the touchpad with the touchpad button on my laptop. This only results in my desktop freezing and I cant click on applications, places or system anymore. It only allows me to launch firefox and help. I can still use a USB mouse.

I have tried editing the ect/defualt/grub file and adding i8024.reset and i8024.nomux=1, separately and together.

My laptop is a HP dv6 and Ubuntu 10.04 installed.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks in advance,
