Nfinity ultrabook touchpad not working

Asked by will

Hi,

I've just brought myself a Nfinity 1401 ultra book, hoping to put Ubuntu on it.

I know after install there are two common bugs, wifi and touchpad. Ive managed to get the wifi working perfectly.

But the touchpad is posing to be a huuuge problem now. I have look all over the net and so far the only solution i have found is the below

edit /etc/default/grub
change line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042.noloop"
run sudo update-grub
reboot

I have done this, but its still not working. About to start pulling my hair out with this one...

Can anyone help!?!

Thanks in advance!

Will

Hey,
I was trying the above on a 64bit version.

Decided i would give 32bit a go, and the above hot fix decided to work... Im not going to spend to much time wonder why. Im just happy its up and running now!
