Is the RAM healthy? You can test the RAM from the Grub menu (hold SHIFT at boot)

If you see any red then the RAM is BAD

what is grub menu I don't know ?but when i was on the screen from where i had to select whether to get into windows or ubuntu I pressed shift and some kind of checking happened and then finally i was taken to ubuntu. I didn't see any thing RED ..so i guess its all fine. I am little new to all this stuff so please excuse my ignorance about terminologies. Thank you

Did you install using Wubi?

vishal (zvesda1) said : #5

yes I have installed using Wubi.. now i want to completely shift to ubuntu but i don't know how and I am not sure what will happen to my important data on my laptop. Wubi yes.

If you boot to liveCD or liveUSB you can run a memory test there.

Can you help with this problem?
