Keyboard not enabled at login screen
Asked by

I'm using a Asus EEEPC 1015PEM netbook running Natty. Everything was running OK until yesterday. Now the keyboard is not enabled at the login screen. I can use the touchpad/mouse keys to select myself from the list of users, but cannot type my password. Only the Esc key seems to be recognised. Pressing any other key gives nothing.
The keyboard *is* working. I have checked that out at the GRUB boot screen, by booting into Recovery mode, and even by booting into Windows 7. I have 11.04 live on a USB stick that requires a login, and that has no problem. It is just not enabled at the login screen for my normal installed system.
Any ideas how to fix it?
