key not working properly

Asked by Javier Resendiz

I have lenovo x60 laptop.

The key board started not working properly after I log on.

I have to hold the keys down longer in order to work at all.
I read the other issues with key issues and I tried another user after I openned up
libre writer it didn't work.
A window open up that stated that nautilus had to restart I clicked ok.
Then the key board worked fine.

I went back to my user but still the key board only works if I hold the keys down for a long time.

I had to switch users again in order to request for some help?
Do I need to restart nautilusi in my account? If so how can I do that?
Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I have lucid 10.04 install on the laptop.
This problem just started it was working fine before. The keys don't work by just touching them normally,
only work if I hold them down for about 2-3 seconds then it works.

I switch users on the same laptop and the key board works fine now with touch only after nautilus stated
it had to restart. I don't think it's a hardware issue since it works fine on the other user account? or maybe not sure?

Not sure about the live CD environment?
Thanks,

actionparsnip,

I read more key board issues, I tried changing the kernel in start-up.
I tried all them with the same issue. The key board works fine at login with the touch.
but will not work by just touch the keys in anything else. I have to hold down the keys in order
for it to work at all.

I also tried the recovery mode kernels, but was not able to get passed the login. It asked me to login
in, I typed in yes. It then asked for my password but it would not take the password. It told me every
time that it was incorrect.

Not sure what do. I also tried a usb key board and this works fine with no issues. that is what I'm using to type all of this.

Any suggestion would be apprecited.

Thanks in advance.
