Driver are built-in, whats supose to be the max resolution?
if you conect something on the secondary VGA out some cards change automatically the resolution to 800x600

Hi :)

Try going up to the top taskbar and click on

System - Administration - Hardware Drivers

hopefully there might be something in there for you. I'm guessing you've already tried

System - Preferences - ScreenResolution near the end

If this hasn't helped please ttry searching around in launchpad for other questions about xorg.conf and screen-resolutions because this kind of question occurs a lot but i still don't know many answers myself

Good luck, happy hunting and regards from
Tom

i'm going to install 8.04 and see if that works, ive seen many people on here say that the drivers they needed was on it.thanks anyway.if that doesnt work, maybe i can find someone to make a wrapper out of a windows driver.oh by the way,it said in hardware devices that no proprietary drivers were in use.and in screen res there's no choices, only 800x600.

It's worth enabling those proprietary drivers and also it'd be nice if you could copy and paste the Screen Section of your xorg.conf in here - it's in /etc/X11
