NVIDIA Drivers for Linux (190.29)

Asked by Seth Hikari on 2009-10-18

Upon installing the OpenCL enabled drivers from Nvidia (http://developer.nvidia.com/object/opencl-download.html#Linux) for Linux x64 Xorg will not start after reboot. Is there a method for getting these drivers to work or are they just not yet ready to be supported by Ubuntu now.

I'd suggest you use the PPA packages instead.

https://launchpad.net/~nvidia-vdpau/+archive/ppa

Then you can just apt-get update / install , use synaptic

Work perfectly when install with synaptic or aptitude
