Monitor Goes Off using the live install 64 bits cd on nvidia GF8800 GT 512Mb
I have tried everything in this help area to solve this problem but still cannot find a solution to this: Everytime the install of Ubuntu passes the "Loading Kernal" box, there is a brief flash of the word "Loading" in the top left hand side of my sceen and the monitor goes off. This happens for every option, whether its boot from LiveCD, install, memory test, test cd for defects, I just cannot see anything, the monitor goes off.
I had a freezing problem a few months ago and thats why i abandoned Linux the first time, because I found no solutions.
I have MSN32 SLi-Deluxe Motherboard, 4GB System memory, AMD 64bit 4600+ Processor, GF8800 GT 512Mb (two DVi outputs), and a 22" LG widescreen monitor.
Desperate to get this loaded as an alternate to the Empire of MS, what could be going on?
PS. None of the posts I have seen solve my problem.
