Asked by Lori

I've installed the catalyst driver from add/remove and tried from the packet manager.
When I click on the catalyst contol centre all I get is cannot launch failure.
I have a ATi Radeon X1300 256 ram card
I had no issues when installed in Ubuntu 8.4 Hardy Heron.
Any suggesstions?

The xorg version is too new in karmic so the driver cannot be used. You can install Jaunty to get full support or you MAY be able to remove xorg to install an older xorg. I have not done this so cannot vouch for any success you may or may not have and do not advise it but it could be an option.

Hi, I had similar problem with mobile radeon x1300. I can't use external monitor because maximum resolution is without ati driver only 1024x768.Please when you expect release which will be working in 9.10? For me is question if I have to downgrade to another version.thanks

You can tell the display to go higher using xorg.conf

Karmic doesn't ship with the file but if you make one it will be oneyed.

Can you help with this problem?
