i have a pc with the express 200 chip set and the drivers at the ati site are out dated for ubuntu 10.04 i have had ubuntu on this pc for 2 years and never found support drivers that worked , because ati express 200 linux support has ended .
with mine i removed the hardware driver and the x server system and run the drivers that were used to install ubuntu . then use system -preference - monitor to set the display resolution, it works well at 1024 x 768 .
mine is a dell amd athlon 64 3500mhz with 1 gb ram with a dsl internet connection . the ram and processor were stepped up from stock ones .

hope this helps !

on my system it is just for checking email and to search the web a little and simple games .
on yours you may want to look at lubuntu or xubuntu they are light weight and run well on older small systems . the best part is you won`t have video driver problems .
